The goals, definitions, and land use maps are only three parts of the overall plan, but are perhaps the most familiar and useful to anyone interested in the summary of the plans. The plans as a whole serve as a vision and guide for the future development of Wright County. These areas are the Northeast Quadrant which is subject to significant urbanization and development pressure, the Northwest Quadrant containing many lakes and natural features, and the US Highway 12 Corridor with its vast amount of prime, fertile farmland. The task of updating the plan was broken out into 3 geographic areas representing differing needs and development patterns found within the county. Please review the 'how to apply" section of the application to ensure all required documents for consideration for approval are submitted.In response to both local and regional development forces, and to help ensure that Wright County grows and changes with a strong vision for the future, the county decided to review and update the 1988 Land Use Plan in conjunction with all its townships and cities.
